Dental complex of hatchlings of the Late Famennian toothplate-bearing lungfish, Andreyevichthys epitomus, from Tula Province of Central Russia is reconstructed on the basis of isolated larval tooth-bearing elements. In addition to the pterygoid and prearticular tooth plates, the hatchlings of this dipnoan have paired rostral and vomerine tooth plates as well as a median vomerine plate in the upper jaw, and labial tooth plates in the lower jaw.It is concluded, on the basis of comparison with the extant dipnoan Neaceratodus, that Andreyevichthys had a predatory type of dentition during early ontogeny and may have had a more active mode of life than the adults.
