Expand your understanding of “eco-friendly” and cost-effective approaches of soil and sediment remediation, focusing on the best available technologies.
The Program focuses on a range of topics such as fundamentals of ecological engineering, main aspects of soil ecology, soil (sediment) contaminants, remediation approaches, designing “eco-friendly” and cost-effective remediation plan to restore the degraded/contaminated soils and sediments.
Ecological Engineering: Soil and Sediment remediation brings together the basic disciplines of biology, physics and chemistry to discover fundamental principles and put them in the service of remediation solutions. Soil is a foundational resource that sustains all terrestrial life and closely related to land degradation, desertification and climate change. Soil and Sediment remediation is essential to save the health environment and human civilization.
Students of the Program learn about both environmental challenges and ways to solve them through ecological engineering: soil and sediment remediation.
Who can attend? The necessary level of training
The Program is open to students as well have already earned bachelor's degree, master's degree. All disciplines are welcome and encouraged to participate. Basic knowledge in the field of general chemistry, soil science, general biology, general physics, ecology, and understanding English are required.
Expected Length of the Program
36 academic hours. The duration of academic hour is 45 minutes.
