- Описание: Introduction to the modern theory of orthogonal and skew projectors is given. Generalized inverses and corresponding matrix partial orders are discussed. Various applications of projectors, generalized inverses and matrix partial orderings are considered. Program: Oblique projectors and idempotent matrices. Properties of oblique projectors. Oblique projectors and generalized inverses. Further characterization of oblique projectors. Orthogonal projectors. Geometry of orthogonal projectors. Properties of orthogonal projectors. Characterization theorem for orthogonal projectors. Sums and differences of oblique and orthogonal projectors. Products of projectors. Other operations on projectors. Ordering on oblique projectors. Passing down properties. Maximal projectors. Projectors and their applications in algebra and statistics. Matrix partial orderings and their applications. Open problems and conjectures. The course is delivered in English. The course was delivered at the University of Dortmund, Faculty of Statistics, September - December 2004 and June - July 2005.
