- Описание: This course considers a number of central topics in philosophy of art, with a focus on the treatment of these topics in the analytic tradition in philosophy. Among other things, we will discuss (i) understanding and defining art; (ii) the nature of the art work: mind-dependent, or not; universal or particular, repeatable or nonrepeatable; (iii) pictorial representation; (iv) linguistic representation and fictional discourse and how we can talk about fictional characters and the nonexistent; (v) the interpretation and evaluation of artworks; (vi) aesthetic concepts; (vii) objectivity and aesthetic evaluation.
