Развитие социального интеллекта и социального познания (In English)The development of Social intelligence and social cognition across the life-spanучебный курс
Описание:The course is designed to equip students with knowledge about cutting edge developments and issues in Social Developmental Psychology, as well as an array of analytical, methodological, and research skills. These skills will be useful for pursuing further academic research and will also add value in a wide range of applied contexts (including clinical and educational practice).
The course aims to explore a variety of approaches to the role of social interaction in child development. The course draws its theoretical foundations from the central Vygotsky’s conception of social interaction, which plays a constructive function in the child’s development and a formative role in genesis of higher mental functions (HMF). The role of child-adult interaction and peer interaction for development of HMF and specifically socio-emotional development in each age-related development period is analyzed on the basis of increasing evidence from genetics, social neuroscience, child experimental psychology, clinical and educational practice. This course will provide an overview of current research in socio-emotional development with an emphasis on typically developing children. A wide range of new experimental techniques and empirical data of capital importance for typical and atypical child development are reviewed.
Assessment is based on the quality of one oral presentation and two essays on a current topic - one on research methodology and one as an analytical review of a published (in English) piece of research.
