A device for identification of carbon-and nitrogen-contaning materials is described. In particular, the device performs the detection and identification of carbon-and nitrogen-contaning materials by photo-nuclear detection. The device may comprise a race-track miacrotron, a braking target, and a water filled Cherenkov radiation counter.
