Аннотация:In search of new oxide-ion-conducting phases, we have synthesized a series of Bi2V1-xMoxO5.5+x/2 ceramic samples, in which the end-members Bi2VO5.5 (x = 0) and B2MoO6 (x = 1) are single-layer Aurivillius phases, possess ferroelectric properties, and offer high oxide-ion conductivity. We have determined the phase composition of the samples and have investigated their electrical properties. The results indicate the formation of narrow ranges of Bi2VO5.5- and Bi2MoO6-based solid solutions (0 < x <= 0.1 and 0.9 <= x < 1, respectively). In the composition range 0.2 <= x <= 0.8, the samples consist of B2VO5.5- or Bi2MoO6 based solid solutions and compounds isostructural with BiVO4 and Bi6Mo2O15. Molybdenum doping stabilizes the orthorhombic phase beta-Bi2VO5.5 to room temperature, but the solid solutions differ little in electric conductivity from Bi2VO5.5. The conductivity of the Bi2MoO6-based solid solutions is higher than that of undoped bismuth molybdate by about a factor of 3.
