Mathematical model of influence of topography on the large atmospheric vortex motionстатья

- Аннотация: We show that the complex behavior of the tropical cyclone approaching the land can be explained in the frame of two dimensional barotropic model obtained by averaging over the height of the primitive system of equations of the atmosphere dynamics. In particular, this behavior includes a significant track deflection, sudden decay and intensification. In contrast to other models, where first the additional physically reasonable simplifications are made, we deal with special classes of solutions to the full system. This allows us not to lose the symmetries of the model and to catch the complicated features of the full model. Our theoretical considerations are in a good compliance with the experimental data. In particular, our method is able to explain the phenomenon of attraction of the cyclone to the land and interaction of the cyclone with an island
