Аннотация:The problem of low latitude boundary layer (LLBL) formation continue to be one of unresolved problems of the physics of the magnetosphere. Characteristics of low latitude boundary layer (LLBL) of the magnetosphere of the Earth are investigated using data of Interball/Tail probe observations. Variations of ion and electron particle fluxes, magnetic field are analyzed for a number of cases. The thickness of LLBL is evaluated. The change of LLBL thickness under the influence of the changes of interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) orientation is investigated. The role of turbulent fluctuations of magnetosheath magnetic field in the magnetopause stress balance is discussed. It is shown that the turbulent nature of magnetic field and plasma fluctuations in the magnetospheath is one of the main factors determining structure of LLBL.
