Аннотация:X-band ESR technique has been successfully applied to study S = 1/2 spin chain compound vanadyl diacetate VO(CH3COO)2. Parameter of the intrachain interactions for uniform Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain amounts to J/kB = -167 К, while the ratio between the interchain
(J' < 0.02 К) and intrachain interactions in this compound reaches a remarkably low value k = J'/J ~ 10-4. Our findings are in consistence with spin-singlet quantum ground state.
