Аннотация:The first boundary value problem for the wave equation with variable coefficients in the class of continuous generalized solutions with finite energy and the dual inverse observation problem with non-regular generalized solutions are considered. The uniqueness of the solution of the inverse observation problem in conjugate non-smooth classes is established on all time intervals having sufficient length, and a corresponding constructive estimate is obtained for the norm of the operator inverse to the conjugate one. By means of this estimation and the variation method, proposed earlier by the author for linear equations with non-uniform perturbations in the operator, stable approximations to solutions of the considered control and observation problems are constructed.
