Аннотация:The article focuses on the artistic value of personal names in “The Great Gatsby” by F.S. Fitzgerald as well as their significance as part of the philological and sociohistorical vertical context of the novel. The analysis has shown that the author skillfully establishes definite links between reality and fiction acting both as a journalist, who distributes current information about contemporary events, and a writer, who reworks creatively the information gathered to communicate his ideas.
