Аннотация:A new species belonging to the subfamily Aloninae was found during revision of G.O. Sars’ material from Australia, Victoria. Sars was aware of this species and named it Leydigiopsis australis, but its description was never published. The morphology of this species is so outstanding that it cannot be placed in any known genus, and thus a new genus Miralona gen. n., with one species, Miralona victoriensis sp. n. is created. Miralona gen. n. seems to be related to Leydigiopsis Sars, 1901 and Tretocephala Frey, 1965, sharing a number of important morphological characters with these genera. The main characteristic feature of Miralona gen. n. is the peculiar labrum, with reduced labral keel and strong lateral projections, which make an exceptional case in the subfamily Aloninae. Miralona victoriensis sp. n. also demonstrates outstanding features in the morphology of the postabdomen and postabdominal claw, head pores, antenna and trunk limbs, which separate it from Leydigiopsis and Tretocephala as well as from all other genera of Aloninae. Morphology of parthenogenetic and ephippial females and males of Miralona victoriensis sp. n. was also studied.
