Аннотация:The effect of pollutant emissions of the Integrated Plant Pechenganikel, the North European largest source of sulfur dioxide, on the changes in acidity and cation exchange properties of the podzol litters of forest ecosystems at the northern limit of their range is estimated. Going towards this plant, the contents of exchangeable potassium and acidity decrease, whereas the contents of nickel and copper increase by two orders of magnitude and reach one-quarter of the cation exchange capacity. Multivariate analysis of spatial interrelations revealed the natural structure of litter characteristics, including three groups: exchangeable bases, pollutants, and parameters of acidity.
