Аннотация:Impedance spectroscopy has been actively employed in investigations of corrosion phenomena. It has been used to study the kinetics and mechanism of the corrosion behavior of metals in various media, fundamental questions related to the passivation and formation of protective films on metals, the adsorption behavior of organic substances (inhibitors), etc. This method is being used increasingly more extensively for practical purposes and, in particular, for studying and evaluating the effectiveness of protective coatings (oxide and polymer films, paint and varnish coatings, etc.). Instruments for monitoring the rate of corrosion have been developed on the basis of this method and used in practice. The main ways to use impedance spectroscopy to solve problems in corrosion science and practical problems have been briefly examined in this review.
