Аннотация:By electrochemical measurements at electrodes with surfaces thai could be renewed by cutting, the influence of the time factor on electric double-layer structure was studied at Pb-Sn alloys of different composition in aqueous solutions of surface-inactive electrolytes. The capacitance curves obtained were compared with similar curves recorded under analogous conditions at Pb and Sb electrodes. It was found that time-dependent processes occur at the freshly formed surface of alloy electrodes which indicate that Pb atoms migrate from the interior to the surface layer. The enrichment of the alloy's surface layer in lead was shown to be diffusion-controlled. The results of the electrochemical studies were compared with data obtained by ESCA and SIMS as well as with certain literature data.
