Аннотация:An investigation was made of the galvanomagnetic effects in p-type Pb1-xSnxTe (x = 0.2) irradiated with electrons (T = 300 K, E = 6 MeV, PHI less-than-or-equal-to 3.35 X 10(17) cm-2). Measurements carried out at pressures p less-than-or-equal-to 18 kbar revealed an increase in the density of holes under the influence of pressure. This was due to the shift of the energy bands at the point L in the Brillouin zone and transfer of electrons from the valence band to a band of resonant states induced by electron irradiation. The pressure dependences of the hole density were used to select the model of the energy spectrum of electron-irradiated p-type Pb1-xSnxTe (x = 0.2) and to determine the parameters of this model. The proposed model was used to carry out calculations forecasting the behavior of electrophysical properties of the investigated alloy after irradiation and to predict the appearance of an extended insulating region as a result of strong electron irradiation.
