Аннотация:On the basis of an experimental sample of the values of the differential capacitance measured on the interface between mercury and an aqueous solution of 0.1 M NaF, rigorous estimates of the adsorption parameters for ethanol were found. For this purpose, nonlinear regression analysis and analytical models of differential capacitance were used. The models were based, on the one hand, on the isotherm for the two-component system and, on the other hand, on the Frumkin isotherm with the linear dependence of the attraction constant on the electrode potential. Capability of these two models to adequately predict experimental results is discussed. The obtained statistical estimates of the adsorption parameters of ethanol are compared with approximate estimates for normal alcohols on the mercury electrode obtained earlier using the Frumkin isotherm with the linear dependence of the attraction constant in the adsorption layer on the potential.
