Аннотация:Using purely analytical calculations, the Gouy-Chapman-Grahame model of the electrical double layer is shown to be thermodynamically consistent with the Gibbs adsorption equation in the case of 1,1-valent electrolyte. Feasibility of thermodynamically justifiable generalization of the Gouy-Chapman-Grahame model for specifically adsorbed cations with partial (in a microscopic sense) charge transfer is demonstrated. This opens new avenues for analyzing the electrochemical impedance structure of faradaic processes with specific adsorption of reagents.
