Аннотация:A series of five experimental studies was devoted to the problem of cognitive tasks solving under induced test-anxiety conditions. The tasks were aimed to differentiation of functional resources’ allocation in working memory. The experiments included performing mental rotation tasks, recall of item position in the matrix, working memory access, arithmetical calculations of digital information and anagram task- solving. Reaction time, execution time and number of errors were compared in ordinary and increased emotional-strain conditions. The results demonstrated that emotional strain is not always lead to performance impairment. However, it is strongly related to changes in cognitive processing and cognitive control strategies: from intentional, slow and conscious strategies to fast and automatic ones. These changes were connected not only with test conditions, but also with certain personal characteristics, i.e. individual sustainability to stress. Moreover, it was shown that some tasks (such as spatial ones) are more resistant to emotional tension.
