Аннотация:The trans→cis and cis→trans photoisomerization of azoethane induced with light of λ = 313–390 nm has been studied in hydrocarbon glasses at 77 K. The quantum yields of isomerization have been shown to be about 0.3. The yields increase slightly with growing free volume of the matrix and do not depend on the wavelength. The quantum yield of isomerization increases up to 0.7 when the matrix favours isomerization. A model has been suggested of local heating and “memory” of the matrix which accounts for the experimental results.
