Аннотация:Lomonosov Moscow State University offers students the opportunity to study foreign languages for specific purposes. “In any professional environment, performance is judged according to certain clearly defined objectives and needs, which demand a specific type of competence…” [Schäffner 2000: xiv]. The updated CEFR descriptors [Developing the European Framework for Reference, 2016] present additional challenges for bachelor’s and master’s students who study Czech as LSP at the Faculty of History. The aim of this paper is not only to provide brief information about criteria for assessing the quality of historical texts translation, but also to introduce other possibilities for developing students’ translation competence at a professional level.
