Аннотация:The cell wall of Streptomyces flavotricini BKM Ac-1277 contains approximately 12% teichoic acid of poly(glucosylglycerophosphate) nature. Phosphodiester bonds link the units through the glycerol OH-3 and the OH-4 of the beta-glucopyranosyl residue. Teichoic acid molecules display molecular weight heterogeneity. Each molecule consists of up to 40 repeating units. The structure of teichoic acid was determined by chemical analysis and H-1- and C-13-NMR spectroscopy. This is the first finding of this polymer in prokaryotes.
