Аннотация:Two-dimensional motions of a rigid body carrying a point mass are considered. The point mass can move relative to the body with a bounded relative velocity and thus control its motion. The system moves in the absence of external forces. Two versions of optimal control problems are formulated and solved: with two-point boundary conditions and with a free terminal position of the point mass. Explicit analytical solutions are obtained and analyzed. Optimal trajectories are proved to be circular arcs. The results can be applied to mobile robots and spacecraft.
