Аннотация:The weekly course of the ground concentrations of main air pollutants in Moscow city has been analyzed on a base of continuous automatic measurements during nine years. Clear influence of human activity on the composition of the urban air is confirmed by results because the difference between concentrations on working days and on Sunday (when emissions from both traffic and of industrial sources are minimal) is statistically significant. Both primary and secondary pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and carbon oxide have the lowest concentrations on Sunday during a week whereas ground ozone in this day, vice versa, is characterized by highest concentration. On Saturday concentrations of all minor gases are intermediate between them on Sunday and on working days so that process of the urban air cleaning during weekend is evident. One more additional effect is that on Monday ground concentrations of NO, NO2 and CO are as a rule a bit less than on the rest working days that confirms gradual contamination of the urban air at the beginning of a week. Unlike other gases, sulphur dioxide doesn’t significantly depend on a day of a week because urban heating which is the main source of this gas operates with the same intensity during a week.
