Based on the parametric calculations of the dynamics of a cloud of aerosol particles behind a shock wave traveling at a constant velocity in a cylindrical or flat microchannel, the diameter (width) of which is about 10-3 m, the effect of the aerodynamic focusing of the particles at the axis of the channel is found. The specified effect is associated with the action of the Saffman lift forces on the particles, which are induced by the local shear nature of the flow on the scale of the flow past the particles. The parameters of the carrier phase behind the wave are calculated in the narrow-channel approximation using the parabolized Navier-Stokes equations. The medium of the particles is simulated by a continuum that is free of inherent stresses. The focusing effect found can be used to produce pulsed beams of microparticles in the technologies of aerosol fractionation, surface treatment, coating, and needleless injection of powdered medicinal preparations.
