Аннотация:In the last decades the Brazilian grammatical tradition tends to reassess criteria of normativity applied to certain phenomena typical for Brazilian Portuguese. The opposition of normative (Rocha Lima 1945; Bechara 1961; Cunha, Cintra 1985) and descriptive (Neves 2000; Castilho 2010; Bagno 2011) grammars brings out a changing approach to some phenomena formerly interpreted as colloquialisms (substandard features). The fact that these widespread structures, criticized by grammarians until the mid-20th century, have been incorporated into grammatical descriptions suggests that a) the sociolinguistic status of such structures is changing; b) the concept of national language standard in Brazil is probably changing, too.
