Аннотация:Selection of informative feature values on the basis of solvability criteria in the problem of protein secondary structure recognition was studied. The solvability, regularity, and locality of the problem are analyzed. Constructive solvability criteria are obtained that make it possible to investigate the hypothesis that the protein secondary structure depends locally on the primary one. An order on the motifs is introduced using heuristic estimates of motif informativeness. As a result, the formalism developed can be used to analyze actual sets of precedents. The most informative feature values are effectively selected via solvability analysis. The formalism proposed is developed to test the hypothesis that the protein primary and secondary structures are locally interrelated.
