Аннотация:According to the Arrhenius theory, the ionic conductivity of aqueous electrolytes is realized by the ions of the electrolyte. Water plays a role of a chemically passive substrate. In this paper, we model the electrodynamic response of aqueous HCl, NaOH, and NaCl solutions without invoking notions of electrolyte ions Na+ and Cl-. It is implied that the electrolyte decomposes into molecules and then they chemically react with intrinsic water ions H3O+ and OH-. Fast exchange reactions suppress the interionic interaction and make the H3O+ and OH- ions active in dc conductivity. Within the model, the ionic conductivity of aqueous electrolytes is due to water protons.
