Аннотация:The process of obtaining titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) from the quartz-leucoxene concentrate (QLC) from the Yaregskoe oil-titanium field was studied. The carriers of titanium in the concentrate are leucoxene grains, which are polymineral aggregates consisting of rutile acicular crystal, finely dispersed quartz crystals, and aluminosilicates. Chlorination was carried out with gaseous chlorine in a fluidized bed reactor in the temperature range of 973 K to 1173 K. The effects of grain sizes of the concentrate and calcined petroleum coke, the initial C/TiO2 ratio in the reaction mass, and the temperature and contact time for the conversion of the main components of the concentrate were determined. The optimal process parameters were determined. The study demonstrated the prospects of using QLC as a raw material for TiCl4 production.
