Аннотация:The geomechanical restoration method was used to calculate the tectonic deformation resulting from the growth of a tectonic structure. Geomechanical restoration allows the characterization of the distribution of deformation based on elastic stress-strain laws. This method was applied to fault propagation fold with antithetic fault. The studied surface in the apex part of the fold during the formation of structure experienced a bend. Two variants of the surface were used to test the method: the first smoothed surface, which describes the geometry of the fold, and the second original surface geometry, which has secondary complicating structures. As a result of the simulation, a strain distribution shows that the surface was stretched as a result of the growth of the structure, and the maximum strain is concentrated on two fold hinge joints. Local surface structures make changes to the simulation result, but the overall strain distribution does not change. Restoration strains confirm the geological concept and can be used to identify areas of increased fracturing of the reservoir.
