Аннотация:A justification for the basic principles of Alfven's resonance theory is given for the case of two-dimensional inhomogeneous plasma configurations. The problem was stated by Hansen and Goertz (1992), who assumed that the character of MHD-wave transformation in the region of Alfven resonance should be is substantially modified in two-dimensional inhomogeneous plasma configurations. Correct treatment with the use of the Frobenius method shows the Hansen and Goertz assumptions to be inconsistent. A singular character of the wave field in the neighborhood of the resonance shell still holds even in systems with multidimensional inhomogeneity of the Alfven's velocity.
