Аннотация:Studies of the transport (resistivity, Seebeck coefficient, thermal conductivity) as well as thermal expansion and Raman spectra of the intermetallic ordered vacancy compounds MNiSn (M=Ti, Zr, Hf) demonstrates the anomalous effect of electron localization on the lattice. For ZrNiSn below T=100K an isostructural phase transition results in a small shift, about Deltaomega=3cm-1, of the phonon mode, corresponding to the increase of the stiffness of the lattice. In the HfNiSn and TiNiSn pronounced electron localization more strongly affects phonon modes resulting in anomalous increase of the omegaLO, 2 intensity observed both in the IR and Raman spectra. In all the samples studied negative thermal expansion was observed.
