Аннотация:The mechanism of HMX combustion at pressures of 0.5 to 50 atm is studied. It is shown that HMX burns in the hot-spot mode. The scale of nonuniformity of the burning surface is determined—the characteristic size of hot spots. The dependence of the size of the hot spots on the average burning rate of the sample is obtained. It is shown that this mechanism is similar to the hot-spot’s burning mode of double-base propellantswith some peculiarities related to the presence of a molten layer in the k-phase: a significantly higher temperature in the flame zone and the absence of a carbon skeleton on the burning surface.
