Аннотация:This article shows the results of scientific research concerning regional analysis of resources for bioenergy. Republic of Crimea has insufficient number of power plants and quantity of producing energy is less then demands. On the other hand the territory has great capabilities to implement renewable energy sources in electric power industry. We consider bioenergy as a perspective way to reduce lack of energy and increase self-sufficiency.
This research was taken to estimate gross resources for bioenergy industry. Suggested approach presumes step-by-step multilevel analysis. At first we explored data for administrative units and calculated gross energy potential of crop wastes for each region. It allowed to reveal territories with the highest rate. For the further investigation we had chosen Saki District and adjacent cities Saki and Yevpatoriya. This level of analysis showed distribution of agricultural lands within the plot. It became possible by means of space images interpretation. Image processing gave us land use map of the territory and vegetation index values. Such information helped us to determine which areas were used for cultivation. Hence, crop wastes from these plots can be considered as resources for energy production.
As a result we have got a multilevel estimation of resources for energy production from crop wastes. The results are presented as the series of maps. Spatial analysis allowed us to define sufficient territories with most gross resource potential.
