Аннотация:In recent years new approaches, allowing to control macromolecular structure andproperties, to synthesis of acrylonitrile (AN) copolymers, used as carbon fiberprecursors, are being developed actively. For this purpose reversible additionfragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) is of interest [1–3].Herein effect of macromolecular structure (a composition and sequential distribution ofmonomer units) on the solutions rheological properties, fiber formation and thermaloxidative stabilization kinetics was investigated. Acrylic acid and alkyl acrylates wereused as AN comonomers for RAFT polymerization. Copolymer structure was controlledby various regimes of monomer feeding (batch and continuous).Conditions, allowing to carry out a controlled synthesis of AN copolymers, whichpossess narrow molecular weight distribution and Mn in the range of (20 – 80)103, aresuggested. The macromolecular microstructure effect on solutions rheological behaviorwas studied. The effect of monomer feeding regime and copolymers compositions ontheir thermal oxidative stabilization was studied. A distinction in properties of thecopolymers, synthesized by a conventional free-radical polymerization and RAFTpolymerization was shown.
