Researches were carried out to study rocks of trappean formation on the territories of diamondiferous regions within eastern side of the Tunguska syneclise. On the basis of stratigraphic analysis basic complex zoning was accomplished and more than 80 paleo volcanic structures were allocated. Details of their internal structure and material composition of composing formations were studied. It was uncovered that explosive rocks are widely developed in epicentral areas of such structures and these explosive rocks are represented by variously fragmented tuffs, tuffits and tuffaceous deposits. Upon this, sub vent facies compose horizons and lenses of agglomerate and coarse fragmented tuffs. Remnants of effusive rocks in the epicenters of volcanic structures are represented by basalts and vitro basalts in various degree substituted by chlorite-palagonite materials. Detailed petrography mineralogical character of a whole complex of volcanogenic formations is cited. It was determined that development of explosive and effusive processes in epicenter areas of volcanic structures leads to breakage of lower Paleozoic kimberlite bearing formations and upper Paleozoic diamondiferous reservoirs. All these factors impact predictive estimates of prospective areas, the fact that is necessary to take into account carrying out diamond-exploration works on the closed territories.
