Аннотация:To analyze changes in land use on the territory of two regions of the Republic of Tatarstan - Sabinsky and Pestrechinsky, big satellite data analysis technologies were applied: retrospective monitoring of soil and land cover and measuring the intensity of land use. The remote sensing data arrays, consisting of 4,000 images from 1984 to 2018, were analyzed. According to the analysis of big satellite data, in the regions there was a decrease in arable land by 2% in Sabinsky and 10% in Pestrechinsky district. It was found that parallel to the reduction of arable land, there is a decrease in the intensity of land exploitation in the form of a massive transition from grain and tilled crop rotations to the cultivation of perennial grasses. The growth of areas of perennial grasses is not accompanied by an increase in livestock production. Thus, the analysis of big data allows to obtain monitoring information that is impossible to obtain from official statistical sources.
