Аннотация:Experimental studies estimating the effect of ions produced by corona discharge on the formation
of new aerosol particles are analyzed. It is noted that, not only in a controlled space (aerosol chambers), independent of its volume, but also under conditions of the natural atmosphere, the generation of a corona discharge is accompanied by the formation of new nanometer-sized aerosol particles, the concentration of which
exceeds the background concentration by more than an order of magnitude. The results obtained are interpreted on the basis of theoretical views about the effect the electric charge of ions has on the condensation of
different admixtures. The coagulation theory and the model of a continuous growth were used to calculate
the increase in the radius of aerosol particles as a function of time.
