Аннотация:Calcium phosphate cements (CPC) are used to fill
bone tissue defects arising upon surgery, diseases, or
injuries [1, 2]. The cements comprise a solid (powder)
and liquid components, their mixing resulting in set
ting and hardening of the cement dough upon chemi
cal reactions occurring in the system to give cement brick. A microstructure of calcium phosphate phase components, most often, apatite or dicalcium phosphate dihydrate, is thus formed. The strength is provided by both the physical adhesion of the crystals of new phases and the formation of crystal hydrates at grain boundaries. A drawback of CPC is brittleness of the hardened material, resulting in rather high risk of
fracture.
