Аннотация:The paper deals with a soil productivity index to characterize the efficiency of soil-climate condition usage by phytocenosis. Phytomass value, productivity and phytocenosis amount are the values used to calculate the index.
The methods and principles of the functioning modelling based on the regression, correlation and factor analyses are applied in the research. Data analysis allowed to get the calculated values for soil productivity index and vegetation index (NDVI) for river basins.
The connection between the soil productivity index and the vegetation index NDVI is considered to be a complicated nonlinear one determined both by spectral reflectivity of underlying soil surface and by photosynthetic activity of the phytocenosis.
Phytocenoses of the river basins with relatively equal values for the vegetation index but with significantly different soil productivity indices use their potential nature climatic ecosystem capacities in different ways.
