Аннотация:ABSTRACT
The study of the process of grammaticalisation and pragmaticalisation of the discursive particles in the romance languages requires some special conditions (a texte with “oral” traits, its Latin prototype, its vernacular romance versions). The case of the “Soliloques of Saint Augustin”, imitating a monologue, is very representative in this context. In this article, on the basis of the meanings of the Latin discursive particles, we analyse the functioning of the elements, translating Latin particles as autem, at, vero, nam, enim, igitur, ergo, in the medieval Italian and French translations (XIV-XV cc.), where they perform connective, modal and demarcation functions.
