Аннотация:An approach to the mathematical modeling of the operation of solar batteries (SBs) of anorbital spacecraft (SC) is considered, taking into account the possible shading of the surface of SBs bystructural elements of the outer surface of the SC. This paper deals with two models of the functioningof the solar battery: the first model is based on the solution of the diode equation, and the second onetakes into account only the area of the illuminated part of the solar battery and the angle of incidenceof the Sun’s rays on its plane. The search for illuminated areas of solar panels is carried out using aninteractive geometric model of the outer surface of the SC using the ray tracing method. The two pro-posed models are compared and examples are given in which each of the models is preferable. Thestrength of the current generated by the solar battery, calculated using the proposed mathematicalmodel, is compared with the data obtained during the processing of the telemetric informationreceived from the Zvezda Service Module (SM) of the International Space Station (ISS).
