Аннотация:The properties of elementary particle scattering at high (though finite) energies which follow from the requirements of analyticity, unitarity and crossing symmetry, are discussed. The classical theorems valid at asymptotic energies are reproduced in the corresponding limits. Various sum rules are considered and are shown to be equivalent to the integral relations between the real and imaginary parts of the scattering amplitudes. The relation between the real and imaginary parts of both symmetric and antisymmetric scattering amplitudes is studied in terms of a unified method. The connection between the modulus and the phase of the scattering amplitude is discussed. It is shown that the dispersion relations can be approximated by their local analogs if the scattering amplitude is not a rapidly oscillating function. The properties of oscillating scattering amplitudes are analyzed. Upper bounds on the total cross section and the elastic scattering amplitude are discussed. Absolute upper bounds on the elastic pi (0)pi (0) scattering amplitude for arbitrary energies are derived.
