Аннотация:The radiation oxidation of polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene terephthalate leads to a deterioration in the strength of cement–polymer composites made on their basis, as compared to those with unirradiated plastics. The main reason for this effect is the radiation-induced formation of acids. Accordingly, in the immobilization of plastics in cement matrices, preference should be given to radiolytic surface modification methods that do not lead to the formation of acid products or methods that are compatible with the post-radiation neutralization of acid products.
