Аннотация:https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/B9780128231449001084?via%3DihubThe aim of the present article is to review the current state of knowledge concerning advances in transition metal hexacyanoferrates (HCFs) catalysts for chemical and biological sensors. The structure, synthesis and electrocatalytic performances of HCFs are discussed. Significance of Prussian Blue (PB, or ferric hexacyanoferrate) electrocatalyst for (bio)sensing in terms of 1000 times higher activity and selectivity in hydrogen peroxide reduction compared to platinum is featured. The applicability of advanced Prussian Blue based biosensors (including those operated in power generation mode) for non-invasive diagnostics is justified. The prospects of enzymes peroxidases substitution with catalytically synthesized Prussian Blue based nanozymes are outlined.
