Аннотация:Differential planetary gear can be used in wind power systems to control the generator angular speed under changing external conditions. The model of a horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) with such gearbox is developed. The aerodynamic load applied to the wind turbine connected with the carrier is described using the quasi-steady approach. The control torque acts on the external ring of the planetary gear. The output torque acting on the sun of the gearbox is supposed to be a linear function of the current in the external circuit of the generator. Dynamical equations of the electromechanical system are obtained. Stability of steady regimes is studied. A control law is proposed to support the constant angular speed of the generator rotor, when the wind speed changes in a certain range (external electrical load is supposed to be fixed). An estimation of power costs for this control is obtained depending on the wind speed value.
