Аннотация:Land use in old-developed regions, due to predominance of intensively used land, as a rule, leads to degradation of natural landscapes. The Belgorod region is old-developed one due to almost complete transformation of the natural complexes by human activity. An effective solution can be the implementation of proposals to develop an ecological network, which will reduce the level of human activity‘s impact on landscapes. However, almost every land plot in the Belgorod region is involved into economic use. An effective way to analyze the current structure of land use are GIS methods, including the OpenStreetMap (OSM) internet resource. The map compiled in the QGIS program revealed that the agricultural lands and settlements occupy large area within the proposed ecological network, along with protected areas and forests. In order to improve the ecological situation in the Belgorod region the agricultural land use regulation, primarily within the ecological network areas, is needed.
