Аннотация:The article deals with the problem of foreign language teaching in the context of development of digital technologies. Internet resources based on different information and communication technologies model some characteristics of the educational process, which allows to apply a learner-centered, cognitive-communicative and sociocultural approach to teaching foreign languages. Digitalization of education is inevitable in the students community immersed in the world wide web, with distance learning giving new opportunities to education. The article analyzes the utility of modern educational websites for both the teacher and the student. It also discusses the advantages and peculiarities of different e-learning platforms, which facilitate students accessibility to native speakers’ tutorials and their involvement in distance learning. Moreover, the use of web-quest technology should not be underestimated as it is the key to solving practical problems and corresponds to the socializing needs of students while raising the level of their foreign language proficiency. The author of the article points out the importance and didactic potential of diverse pedagogical technologies that provide effective training of competitive specialists. The purposeful use of these technologies as well as audio-visual equipment while doing hometasks, expanding knowledge and practicing new material in the distance format also helps to achieve students’ certain independence in the learning process.
