- Аннотация: This chapter provides a historical overview of gravimetric surveys in the Arctic. Findings from modern airborne gravimetric surveys in the Arctic carried out by Russian and international companies are analyzed. Marine and airborne gravimetric surveys using the Chekan gravimeters in hard-to-reach areas of the Earth, such as the Geographic North Pole, the Greenland shelf, coastal seas of the Antarctic, and the Himalayas are addressed. Polar versions of the GT-2A gravimeter with the necessary modifications of equipment and software for all-latitude applications are covered. Application of multi-antenna GNSS receivers in these areas is analyzed, and the method of transition to quasi-geodetic coordinates is described.
